WILD BY NATURE
A Nature Resort near Sigiriya, Set Across 25 Acres of forestry in Sri Lanka
Wild Grass sits among 25 acres of forest, lake and open grassland near Sigiriya, in the heart of Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle. The villas are few and unusually spacious, set apart from one another among the trees rather than gathered around a conventional hotel complex.

Days here move between the quiet of the property and the ancient landscapes beyond it: Sigiriya Rock Fortress, Dambulla’s cave temples and the wildlife of Sri Lanka’s dry zone are all within easy reach. Back at Wild Grass, there is space to slow down — and often little between your villa and the wildlife passing through.

STAY
Villas made for living, not just sleeping
Set apart among the trees, Wild Grass's one- and two-bedroom villas have the space and privacy that are increasingly difficult to find around Sigiriya. Generous living areas open towards the surrounding forest, grassland and water.
Choose a secluded villa for two, a two-bedroom family villa, or a private pool villa surrounded by the landscape.
OUR VILLAS
Find your place at Wild Grass
From one-bedroom villas hidden among the trees to two-bedroom family villas and private pool villas, each is designed to make the most of its space and surrounding landscape.

BEYOND THE VILLA
Nature begins outside your door
Wild Grass is home to more than its guests. Walk the property with our resident naturalist, and the forest begins to reveal itself — birds in the canopy, tracks along the trails and wildlife moving through the 25 acres around you.
Beyond Wild Grass, national parks, ancient cities and the rock landscapes of Sri Lanka's Cultural Triangle are within easy reach.
SIGIRIYA & THE CULTURAL TRIANGLE
Ancient Sri Lanka, just beyond the grass.
Sigiriya rises beyond the grasslands surrounding Wild Grass, placing one of Sri Lanka's most extraordinary ancient sites within easy reach. Climb the rock fortress at first light, walk to the summit of Pidurangala or explore the cave temples of Dambulla before returning to the quiet of the property.

Stay longer and the Cultural Triangle opens further: the ancient cities of Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura, alongside national parks where elephants still move through Sri Lanka's dry-zone landscape.

OUR APPROACH
Built around the forest. Not over it.
Wild Grass was designed around the landscape already here. Villas sit apart among existing trees, grassland and water rather than being gathered into a conventional hotel complex.
Today, the resort is powered entirely by solar energy, while the space between the villas remains largely the territory of the wildlife that moves through the property.

DINING
From our garden
to your table.
Much of what reaches the kitchen at Wild Grass begins on the property itself. Our organic farm supplies most of our vegetables, forming the starting point for menus that bring together Sri Lankan and Western cooking.

Meals are prepared to order, with both à la carte and set menus rather than a buffet — whether you begin the day with breakfast before Sigiriya or return for lunch or dinner after a day exploring the Cultural Triangle.

“You have one of a handful of ‘jungle villas’ all to yourself. If you dare to sleep with all the curtains drawn, then you sleep ‘in the jungle’. One night we heard a small crack and then saw a small elephant sneaking up to our villa.”

“Our bungalow was completely surrounded by forest: total serenity. We only saw a couple of monkeys and heard the birds. The food was outstanding. We got a private dinner setting at the pool, which was so romantic.”
